Outdoor Yoga in Winter? No Problem.

2020 has definitely changed our lives! The way we practice yoga is no exception. I feel fortunate to have been able to offer outdoor yoga classes to many local students. As we inch closer to the first day of winter, the outdoor classes are still rocking and rolling! So how can we dress for outdoor yoga in chillier temperatures? The answer is simple...layers, cover your head, and keep a positive attitude! Begin with a warm and fitted, but comfortable base layer. Fleece-lined yoga pants and shirts are an amazing way to stay warm and cozy as the temperatures dip. You may even find yourself lounging around in these cozy layers après yoga! Next, add some layers. Chose close fitting sweatshirts, fleece jackets, maybe a vest or light weight puffer jacket. Don’t forget to cover your head, hands, and feet! Yoga gloves and socks with grippers will keep you warm and steady on your mat. I’m also a big fan of leg warmers! Maybe it’s the 80s child in me, but they can add that extra bit of warmth to keep you happy! Now...Stop! Drop! And Yoga! Give your layers a test run and see how your body moves in some familiar poses. Try out Downdog, Warrior II, Butterfly. If those poses are comfortable, you are ready to hit the mat! I look forward to seeing you soon!
